Why a subie as opposed to some rwd toy when you live in Florida? Just curious.
I looked at the g37 but wanted 4 door and hatchback.
Space of a hatchback rocks like no other..

I live in NY. The winter package is godly.
STI is a horrible car for winter. You really need a complete second set of wheels with dedicated snow tires to make it doable and very few wheels fit those big brakes so it is costly.
how much OTD if I may ask?

I live in NY too. My Jetta had all of those options and I never used them.
I tried the heated mirrors once though, but there was a big warning about leaving them on for longer than 20 minutes or they'd burn out, so I never bothered again.
I wish they'd make cars optioned with as few electronics as possible. For example, I would love my RX-8 with absolutely nothing but a radio. I don't care for AC/Traction Control/Sensors for emissions/etc. 🙂
I am not a fan of hatches, but damn, that STi looks nice.

i agree with you somewhat on this but not having AC really sucks
I never ever use AC. I hate the amount of power it sucks from my car...although this RX-8 seems less prone to AC loss than my Jetta or Civic did.
Few factors to consider. It rains a shit ton in FL. I'm glad I didn't still have my GTO when I came down here. Something like a Vette or G8 with a modern stability control system would do okay, but you DO have to be careful. AWD + rain = wunderbarWhy a subie as opposed to some rwd toy when you live in Florida? Just curious.

An AWD car is safer and potentially more fun to flog on the street. Also, all late model Subaru's are top safety rated by the IIHS. The Vette doesn't even get extensive safety testing due to low production numbers, at least when I looked a couple years ago.
The closest thing to the STi's handling and performance level would be a used Corvette. A G8 GT would be fun too. The G8 is auto-only and relatively sloppy from the factory. Corvette has its own compromises as well of course.
I would rock a Vette or G8 GT down here, but not a GTO or older RWD V8. (As a DD at least)
