Well, today I just got a second exchange of my Sansa Express from Best Buy today and right wno I am debating should I keep it or sell it on ebay or w/e and use the money to get a slightly more reliable mp3 players. Here was some problem I have Had.

I originally purchased the sansa express back in March with 2 years replacement plan and it was great, small and pretty decent music quality, however, within a month the power button stop working and I went to best buy and they offer to exchange it and the replacement plan would transfer over to new one no problem. That was around middle of April

Fast forward to the past few weeks, the headphone port begin to act up and it sort of kill the original and my spare headphone. Today I drop by best buy again to see if they can repair or exchange it. They ask for my name and stuff and say they need to get an over ride to get it exchanged. In the end they finally get me a new one after 30 minutes and then they say the original replacement plan I purchased back in March will no be valid since this is my second exchange already and they say they can add another replacement place for 9 bucks but now I am no longer sure if i want to pay again. Can they really cancel the plan I paid for already just because this is my second exchange? If it is so, based on the player's track record, am I better off keeping it or sell it to get a slightly better player?

And a good replacement unit would be? I already have a Creative Nomad Zen Xtra 40 gb so the one I am looking for a is smaller and easier to carry around instead of carrying a brick size mp3 player all the time.

Replacement plan is a bit of a gyp. $9 for an item that costs less than $50? Better to buy it with a credit card which extends the original warranty.

Check out anythingbutipod for other options. I, myownself, have been interested off and on for awhile in the Express (more so the 2GB model) but just haven't pulled the trigger. If it used a standard battery (removable, rechargable Ni-MH) I would have. Cable-less and expandability via MicroSD are requirements which it does sport and like you I want something compact. I really do not get the popularity of giganto mobile-phone sized players.

Express really is pretty neat but its reliability leave a lot to be desired. For one I went through 2 exchange in 5 months and that not really a good sign
