sansa clip issue

Bought it off hot deals a few months ago. Washed it last night and found it in the dryer this morning. It was completely dead when I put it in my pocket. It will connect to the computer just fine and let me browse the files, etc. But when I unplug it from the USB cable it won't turn on. Won't do anything. Tried the 15 second soft reset to no avail. I would think it's trashed but it boggles my mind why it connects to windows just fine

It works when you plug it in but not otherwise because the battery is dead and its getting power via USB.

hmm, i'm doubting the battery can be replaced in these little things.
