Just went and grabbed a Blimpie from them since I looked online and the reviews were really good. Everything was fresh, good portions, but agreed, the bread was a weak point. For a chain, Jersey Mike's has much better bread.
Yeah, thinking back, the bread seemed pretty variable, like even week to week, whereas JM's is pretty uniform. They do bake it every day (or did), dunno if JM does the same.

I had something like those when I was in NOLA around 4 years ago. Not aware of any place like that here. We have Subway, but I swore them off... they suck.

Wawa makes a pretty credible sub, but they call them hoagies. I'd put them up against any big chain sub. They may not always win, but they're still in the game. As opposed to Subway, where the best thing you can say is "I'm not hungry anymore".
