Where you're from, according to what you call a sub sandwich
We're onto you, people who call them "wedges".
Do you have any not on this list?
This just reads like a "list of reasons why the Atlantic northeast in general, and New York specifically, suck."
Seriously, it's just a list of a dozen different things people in New York call a sandwich.
Nothing about this was about the quality of the sandwich
My dad grew up near Philly. All sub sandwiches were hoagies. I miss when he would take me to Philly to go get a roast beef. The swiss cheese was awesome. RIP dad.The school dietician would list hoagies on the lunch menu. All us midwestern kids were like, "WTF is a hoagie?"

There is a sandwich chain named Blimpie, but the number of them appears to have been steadily declining over the last couple decades. Weird, because they were better than Subway, and Jersey Mike's seems to be doing pretty well.Sub or hoagie for me. Either one works but i usually order a sub.
Never heard of these before:
“Wedge”
“Spuckie”
“Blimpie”
“Spiedie”
“Gondola”
“Zeppelin”
“Sarnie”
Some pizza places have something called a wedge. It can be cold cuts or pizza but it's stuffed into a shell of bread, maybe more like a large pita.

I remember they had really cheap meat as well. Even cheaper than Subway.I didn't care for Blimpies' bread.
I dated a chick from upstate NY and she always thought it was so funny that people from CT called it a grinder. First time a customer asked for a meatball grinder all she could think they wanted was this:The school dietician would list hoagies on the lunch menu. Weird, every one I went to had deli-quality meat, sliced when you ordered.I remember they had really cheap meat as well. Even cheaper than Subway.
Yeah sliced from the deli style 65% water, 30% salt and 5% meat gelatin block.Weird, every one I went to had deli-quality meat, sliced when you ordered.

What a savage, I've never been to New England (only part of the country I haven't visited now) and I'm familiar with grinders.I grew up in NE & Greater Boston.
I have never heard of Grinder or Spuckie.
Spent a good bit of time in Boston but never heard Spuckie. Grinder is ubiquitous in CT.I grew up in NE & Greater Boston.
