Sandra Memory results.. please comment

I am running a 366@550 celery..... 512MB pc133 set to cas 2. On a Soyo 6VBA133

My results were:

INT 134 MB/S
FLOAT 142 MB/S

This seemed a bit slow.. is this right, and does anyone else have this board?

Sandra memory is a pretty useless benchmark. I mean a P4 1.6 with rambus stomps all over any athlon, but does it matter in the least?
(for 95% of apps).

don't have your board but your values still look low.
have you tried tweaking your memory settings in bios?

Your SANDRA scores are low. I don't have the Celeron at 550MHz result anymore. I remember it were in the high 200's.

A Celeron 633 at 66MHz FSB:
INT 224 MB/S
FLOAT 250 MB/S

When running at 950MHz @ 100MHz FSB:
INT 333 MB/S
FLOAT 372 MB/S

If the MB uses Intel BX chip set, the memory performance is usually optimized. For VIA chipset MB, you need to use the WPCREDIT and WPCRSET tools by Oda to get optimal results.

The SANDRA memory benchmark is extremely useful in helping you to obtain best result with your system while tweaking it. Good luck.

When talking about memory tests in Sandra, it has alot to do with the intensive apps, not all apps. Your scores are low for Sandra here using the Cele. My old k62 was giving me more than that and I didn't even have fast ram(pc100 board).

I just ran the test on my wifes system soyo 6ba+ IV 366@550 :

INT 337 MB/S
FLOAT 340 MB/S

If you have 2 sticks of 256 pull one out and your score will go up, if it just one stick then i dont know.

Well, I have 2 256mb sticks, butI have tried weach of them alone at times.... and no result differences

this is not a BX chipset, either.

It is a VIA

Could someone please give me some tips on how to improve these scores?

Try running the memory test a few times in a row, i think you get your optimal results that way, and it always made mine go up an ok amount.

If you are less adventureous, the surer and safer way to improve performance is to get a BX motherboard. I would recommend the Asus CUBX-E. The -E version gives you ATA-100 support.
