Sandra errors??

I'm getting the "can't initialize database" error when I start sandra 2002 or 2003. I have v2.7 MDAC installed and that didn't fix it. When I close both programs I get " performed an illegal operation" error and details show a stack dump. what is up with this??

This is really a software question and it may be moved by the mods....

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling...maybe a regcleaner in there as well...

What OS by the way would be helpful...

I believe this is the right forum- most OC'ers use some sort of benchmark, and this one is common. win 98 and the tips are not available.

Win 98 FE or SE???? I could never get sandra 2002 to work on win98 FE as some windows file was not present in that version....could be a compatability issue...

Ask Thugsrook as I know he runs Win98SE and see if he has had issues....

blah blah blah ~ Win98/ME might require a MDAC (ODBC) v2.7 update available here.

Just checking out your rig. Curious to know what your mem is clocked at. Had the same problems with cas 2.5 on my board a couple of times. Changed the timings and it went away.🙂

I've got it at 168 (336mhz), but it should handle that no problem !!(Corsair XMS3200-512). I may however try backing off the timings, as I have those set to the most aggressive I can (cas2-2-5-2-1T). I would be surprised if this memory is screwing up an install, but I'll try it- it runs the memory benchmark fine (roughly 2400/2200). Lots of people have this stuff runing @ 200mhz cas2. Not sure if thats good or not because the comparisons don't get loaded with the install either

for some reason, dunno Y, iwtr always wants to be 3T. got lotsa errors like you are talking about until I changed that setting. I too am @ 200 and stable.
