You'll end up getting an Ipod of some type (regular, photo, nano, mini, shuffle). It's not that they work better, just that it adds name brand recognition - like Prada, Armani, etc. Oh look, you have an Ipod....

I have a sandisk, but not that model. It works great. Never had any problems.

my 11 year old daughter has a Sandisk (256mb model from last year) and it stands up to being tossed around all the time.

I rarely listen to it but when I did it sounded pretty decent through my senn's. I wouldn't call it 'audiophile' quality but then again neither is most mp3's. I'd say it was worth the $79 I paid for it.
