SanDisk Sansa C140 1GB MP3 $30($20 w/Google Checkout)

this is great, i was just thinking last night i need a small/cheap player for my daughter

thank you moshquerade/Hot Deals! :sun:

I snagged a similar 2gb sansa a few months back for $40 and it was well worth it. The UI and screen are pretty awful, but everything else is solid.

How on earth did you even find this deal? I can't get to it by searching Buy.com. The only way is to use your link. Is this legit?

It's probably through Google or some other product search engine. A lot of time stores offer special deals through them.

It was advertised also in the Buy.com email, sign up for that in order to get notice on future deals.

I had a 'falling out' with Buy.com a while back over an issue. That was when I cancelled their newsletter and had me taken off of the mailing list. This will be their chance to redeem themselves in my eyes if they make good on this deal. Fingers crossed.

So can anyone translate Buy.com-speak? When they say "In stock soon. Usually ships in 2 to 3 business days", what are we realistically looking at? A week or two?

I recently picked up a Nokia 770 from them that was supposed to ship in 2-3 days and it did. So in my experience the shipping info is usually pretty accurate. 🙂

How do you sign up for their email? I can't seem to find a link on their site

Looks like you ordered just in time. I ordered the day after you did and buy.com shows my order "on order".

Their definition of "on order"

"We are making every effort to ship your product to you as soon as possible. Unless your item is on pre-order, our supplier has not given us an expected arrival date.
We'll send you eMails updating you on the status of your order. You may cancel any item that is not in stock up to the day the product ships by clicking on 'cancel item' from within your order summary."

yes...there is a folder for media where you drag and drop mp3's and another where you can drag and drop any other type of file just like a usb flash drive

Hi All - I just got mine yesterday using the Google Checkout Deal - It had said 2 weeks a week ago and I got an email yesterday telling me it was on the way when lo and behold it came!

I opened the package and the contents looked a little shady... The CD with the app on it had no label and it looked like a typical CD-R 😱 Then the instruction manual was just a sheet of photo copied paper. The unit seems really flimsy and cheaply made. But I just plugged the little devil into some phones and it works really well.

I just upgraded my URGE account to the portable kind and plugged went to sync the player with my store collection of downloads - not music i own - but music i"rent" . Windows Medial Player 11 wouldn't let me sync DRM'ed rented music to my player. I am not happy, as i got the player for that reason. - The description states - "Supports Subscription Music Stores"

Am I out of luck - or has anyone been able to sync store music (napster, urge) on the player?

Does it look scratched up?
I ask because I got in on the Jabra Bluetooth headset deal few weeks back and they sent me the headset in a ziplock bag. The damn thing was scratched up to hell and was obviously used.
Buy.com would not do anything about it after repeated phone calls and I eventually ended up disputing the charge with my CC company.
My new motto is buy.com can go to hell 😀
