Thanks! Looks like it is OOS for shipping, but it is still in-stock at my local stores.

IF I were to jump on a deal like this--and I wanted to use it in an expandable MP3 player--what would you all recommend?

They have this at Newegg. 1GB Sandisk Sansa
I bought the 512 MB model for a Christmas present from CC for 59.99 last week.
They have it a Amazon with good reviews and it's upgradeable plus the FM seems to really work, but it looks like they ran out and it's shipping from J&R out of NYinstead.
eBuyer.com also has it for around 65.00 shipped no tax except in AZ. I just found that it's 62.47 with a 10.00 rebate, so it's even less than I thought. Hmmm... should have bought it here.

To get the cheapest one because an MP3 player doesn't need any particularly high throughput nor are there any common compatibility issues providing the player you choose supports the capacity (for example, some don't go over 1GB, but I can't recall which...know the Sansa does support up to 2GB though.

On the other hand, your wait-time transferring to and fro pc is another reason to spend more for higher speed, IF that's important.

So the answer is, there is no particular concern with regards to an MP3 player, buy whatever you want. Common deals put 1GB around $40 AR at several places today, tommorrow, or a week-from-tuesday, seems as good a choice as any.
