meh, it doesn't really bother me. Usually it only happens on really hot deals, so its worth it (for those people who only like to read teh 1st page or 2). If it happened on every deal, then I would want the mods to crack down on it.

I completely and wholeheartedly agree. You certainly do not.

Unfortunately, at this point in time, the only "useless" post that could be offered to this thread would be attempting to argue the validity of a readily accepted practice. More conscious forum members typically recognize reposted deals and choose to post any updates/questions in the original thread, rather than in the repost. Regrettably, this was not the case with this particular thread. Could this act be considered maleficent? Surely not. Nonetheless, it certainly would have been a bit better to observe a collective effort of correction rather than a bandwagoning of criticism.

One could blame foniks (the original poster) for not correcting the oversight, and editing the title of the thread to reflect the situation; however, I think the greater fault lies here with the membership, sadly. foniks appears to be a relatively new member of these forums, and would likely not have yet observed this practice.

blah blah blah ... what the hell does it matter? does it somehow hurt the original poster if there is a repost? does he/she loose money? their one shot at the nobel prize? i posted last week about this weekends compusa deals and a few days later someone else posted the same. i don't care. the point is to share hot deals. if the reposter didn't notice the first post then some other folks probably didn't either, so the reposter may actually be doing them a favor. as far as clogging the forum goes, i get that even less. since you can search for items of interest, who the heck cares if the forum has a ton of topics? personally, i'm tired of all the damn forum nazis around here to take it upon themselves to crap on other peoples threads with such stupid posts at "repost", "wrong forum", "not hot", etc.

foniks (the original poster) most likely knew that there already was a post about the deal. the reason he posted is that his post has his amazon affiliate tag in the links (elec_hd-20) and he wanted to make $ by having people buy through his links. check his post history and you will see many similar posts. he wanted to post his referral links. nothing else.

how would we report this to a mod to ban him or give him a warning?

truly, after the infamous "in before lock" post, can there be any more worthless post than this? who the he11 cares?! and if the point is that reposts clog the forum, then shouldn't you REFRAIN from posting so that one of the threads will sink and die?! i don't get it.
isn't it just lovely how people who insist on crying repost also bump the post to the top?
How does that send it to the top? isint that only "b u m p" that does that?
ANY post has EXACTLY the same effect. Typing bump or repost does the same thing
