sanding down the gpu of a video card- real bad??

so i sanded down the core of my mx to get all the arctic silver epoxy that i had on it. i applied some more goop, added a new copper hsf combo, installed the card and voila!

cs is constantly freezing up on me now. i get an artifact or two before that happens btw.

it might be my usb mouse however, that seems to be always reinstalling itself as well.

any ideas??

did the friction cook the chip?

I think I would suspect the Mouse Issue first. I dont think the sanding had much effect.

if it REALLY had screwed the chip, i dont think it would even go as far as going into what hes doing...
