San Jose Rail Yard Shooting - Multiple dead + Suspect Dead

Thoughts and Prayers, etc... Currently still developing

The shooting reported in downtown San Jose is at the VTA light rail yard in San Jose, a light rail official says.
“We do have reports of an active shooter, it is our light rail maintenance yard,” Brandi Childress, VTA spokesperson, says.
She says the sheriff and police are on scene and are asking people to avoid the area. “We have evacuated employees,” she said, calm but clearly shaken.
CNN has reached out to Amalgamated Transit Union 265 and the National Amalgamated Transit Union for comment.

I would suspect workplace related? But not sure at all, just a guess.

Thoughts and Prayers, etc...
Fuck you and take your thoughts and prayers bullshit and shove them far up your ass. Right wing idiot morons like you who will forever refuse to do anything with fixing gun violence in this country. Fuck off low IQ fascist traitor scum, and the same goes for the rest of the usual nut jobs who post here regularly.

Whoa, there. I know he's right-leaning, but I think that "thoughts and prayers, etc." was meant to acknowledge how hollow that phrase is, even if he might disagree with the ways we get a meaningful solution to mass shootings.

He just casually implied that mass shooters were waiting to get the COVID-19 vaccine before doing their mass shootings because they were afraid of getting COVID-19.

We obviously need even more guns than we already have. And bigger guns too. Obviously.... And every newborn should know how to hold a gun before holding a bottle. After all, a newborn will often figure out how to hold their bottle, so why not a gun? Considering all the gun violence and the gun love and the easy access to a gun, I say why not at least give the other side a chance? We've tried this their way, the NRA's way, the politicians way, and look where that has gotten us. Lets pass some gun control, and ban some of those assault weapons, then..... see how that goes. We could try it for, or say, two years. Two years of assault weapons ban, two years of intense background checks, two years of doing what the majority of Americans want, instead of always doing what the minority want. What the NRA wants. Come-on now, at least we could give it a try.

Shhh, you gotta let them personally learn in life or there is just no hope. Critical thinking isn't something you can just tell them to do 😉

Just like the old phrase "Common sense isn't so common".

Yes, he basically said that a man who sets his house on fire, shoots a bunch of people, and very likely puts a bullet in his own head was so afraid of COVID that he needed to be vaccinated before...doing all that.

I wonder if Fox News is administering IQ tests to screen their guests. "Hey, this guy tested at 72. That's too high since our average viewer is low 60's and we don't want our viewers to feel the guests are talking down to them."

This guy certainly seems to have made the cut.

(Economic Crisis + Mental Health Crisis) x Guns = Death

Working on the first two would be the cheapest and easiest "fix" since they address pre-existing conditions, but I guess this thread will focus on all of the guns walking around shooting people or whatever.

b-b-b-but this was San Jose, CA - so they had all these amazing laws in place! How did he get past the force-field that those laws created?!?!?!?!

There was a 10 year assault weapons ban from 1994 to 2004, it wasn’t very useful. California has much more strict rules as well. NICS was brought in in 1998. Again, not super helpful about these events.

Not to say they couldn’t be done differently, but mass shootings in particular are pretty resilient to gun control unless it’s very draconian.

#1 school shooter was done with hand-guns. ~98%+ of gun deaths are done with hand guns and standard rifles (e.g. shotgun).

You're simply an incompetent and ignorant fool (which the US certainly produces plenty like the ones here) if you think the key to our problems are "assault weapons"

Just another day. These things don't even register on the average person's radar anymore. Pathetic.
On the news tonight, Lester Holt (NBC) said there have been 60 mass shootings in the USA in May alone.

My "thought" is that we should get the guns out of people's hands. If people didn't have access to guns people wouldn't shoot people. You don't have to be more than 3 years old to understand that simple concept. And don't say "but..." cause I don't want to hear about it. I know better.

What you don't understand is that guns drive people crazy. Think about it.
