I haven't been there is years and I think most people think of it as a kids thing but I have always thought the Exploratorium was worth a visit.

Of course, there is always the Mitchell Brothers O'farrell Theatre.

Haha, that is kind of crazy, but hilarious.

Was just Googling around and it looks like you just rent bikes near GG Park, then do like a 1.5 hour ride over to Sausalito? Is Muir Woods near there? Do you need to prepare in any other way? I assume it's not a super intense ride.

The woods are down in a huge valley. It's probably a 1-2 mile very winding descent depending on the route taken. There's zero shoulder and endless amounts of traffic (including huge tour buses) going in and out of there. I choose life 😛

Maybe the bike routes are different than the typical car routes. Going down wouldn't be bad. If you had to bike back out that would be brutal.

It's back and forth. There are actually alot of dedicated bike routes, but there are tons of areas where you are just on a shoulder along the highway.

It's pretty cool and probably pretty dangerous.

Ah ok, thanks guys. I don't think I'm up for that. I've not been on a bike in several years, so don't really feel like jumping right into the deep end.

I'll just stick with the bridge over to Sausalito for now.

When we were there it was the first major rainfall they had had in like 18 months and one of the main highways had washed out and was closed down. So maybe the route we went wasn't the typical one. Not sure. I was just sightseeing out the window and not paying much attention to roads.

Adding. The best city bridge ride IMO. 2-4hrs. (edit: More!) 11-20mi

1) Start at panhandle
2) Enter park. Enjoy open JFK esp near the Conservatory of Flowers. Say hi the hockey players.
3) Make Great Highway. Ride to Cliff House/Sutro Baths/Sutro Heights park.
4) Lands End Trail (if not washed out) El Camino Del Mar
Detour: Seal Rock Dr, Clement to, 34th to Legion of Honor
5) Back to El Camino Del Mar Bomb down To Sea Cliff
6) Lincoln Blvd to the Bridge.
7) Headlands to Point Bonita or Coastal Trail (Milwok, Stables, BoBcat, etc)
8) Ride Back to Bridge via Bunker Road Tunnel.
9) Fort Point, Follow Coast, Crissy Field etc
10) Palace of Fine Arts
11) Out through The Presidio via Lyon Lombard Presidio Blvd or Arguello (W Pacific links Presidio Blvd to Aguello Blvd.)
