Takedown,

No, I am not wrong. I did not find anything incorrect about my previous post. I travel in the greater western United States every month, and my phone bill (as well as the contract) proves my statements. My base plan is the Home 300.

in San Diego, the best I can do is $65 for 8290 and $320 for 8890 on a new 1 yr contract with cingular. and yes, they are VERY much cracking down on scamming.

Georgias- so what phone did you end up going with if not the 8290? Just curious... yeah.. things like reception are extremely important to me rather than the little annoyances...

if you guys aren't interested in the 8290....you sould go for the Ericsson t28-z. it is about as small and light......but much more sturdy...i just bought myself the 8290 and my mom the t28. the 8290 is more appeaking but i muse admit...the face plats are thin.......giving the feeling of cheapness that someone was speaking of, as for reception....it is OKAy, but the t28 gets much better reception...it has tetris too. the only complain i have is that it doens't come with the handsfree kit......and that the screen is slightly small.

Well you can always get a phone up in LA. Then you just call Cingular and tell them that you have moved to San Diego, and wich to change your plan. They should change your plan from LA -> San Diego for free.

I've been with SprintPCS for 2 years now and have had no problems.. My friends are all with PacBell and/or AT&T and I've heard nothing but complaints from them. THe best coverage in the LA area has to be Sprint IMO
