Samsung's lawyers need new glasses

http://allthingsd.com/20111013/how-...d-and-a-galaxy-tab-dont-ask-samsungs-lawyers/

How flipping sad is it that they can't tell the difference, I could identify either from the corner of the courtroom...

What an uncomfortable moment for Samsung at its court hearing with Apple on Thursday. Fielding questions from U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh, Samsung attorney Kathleen Sullivan was asked if she could distinguish between Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, which Koh held up for all the court to see.
Her reply, as first reported by Reuters: “Not at this distance, your honor.”
Not at this distance, your honor.
Not the greatest answer in a case in which the defendant stands accused of “slavishly” copying a rival’s designs. More so, since Sullivan was standing just 10 feet away from the devices she was asked to identify.
Thankfully, one of her colleagues was able to come to her rescue, but only after this plea from Koh:
“Can any of Samsung’s lawyers tell me which one is Samsung and which one is Apple?”
Not a good day in court for Samsung.

Can you tell a Samsung TV from LG from a distance? Electronics designs look the same. Tablet is just a screen with an SOC attached.

lol, that was a pretty bad move by the lawyer.

Isn't the most obvious difference the physical button on the front? AFAIK, Galaxy Tabs don't have any button on the bezel, whereas the iPad does.

Aren't they also different aspect ratios?

Yes. 16x9 vs 4:3 on the iPad.

Even a casual browser in Best Buy would be able to distinguish the that the two were different. This lawyer needs to be pulled and fired.

Irritating because Samsung's really cleaned up since the days of the Beholds, Moments, and Galaxy S. They make some of the best HoneyComb tablets, and have several very good ones in the pipeline.

it's a fucking black rectangle with a touch screen. If someone showed you 2 computer monitors from 10 feet could you tell the difference?
