Samsung vs. Corsair

I wanted to see if anyone knew what the Samsung 512mb 333DDR would overclock to vs. a stick of Corsair cas2 512 333DDR.

that's it.

actually, there's a little bit more. are the Samsung 512 out already? and would the Corsair take heat better because of it's heatspreader?

If you're talking about the Corsair XMS3200C2 it is guaranteed to clock to 400MHZ, CAS2.. Plenty of people are able to run it over that speed, 420MHZ doesn't seem too rare. It uses Winbond 6ns chips.

Not that it matters that much. CAS latency makes little difference in high speed DDR at right around DDR400.

cas latencies are very important, atleast to me
the samsung stuff has been know to hold the fast cl2 timings
the way i rate the mem is how high you can get it (MHZ wise) with the fastest timings
if i hafta lower the timings to get any higher then it ain't worth going any higher (or if i still want higher Mhz then the mem isn't good enough for my needs)
but that's just me......

i was gonna get the corsair 3200 cas2 stuff but then i figured i wasn't gonna be able to use much of it's overclockability. i can only get 154fsb on my 2.53 at 1.625v in bios (p4b533-e).

the corsair's about $200 shipped and i can get a stick of 512 samsung cas 2.5 3200 for about $175. i figure the corsair's good for at least 420 ddr, which i will never be able to attain, so why not just get the samsung and push it to 411ddr?

but then i also figure, why not get the corsair for $25 more? it's cas2 and has lifetime warranty.

so many decisions. . .

another question. should getting 411ddr out of a corsair 3000 be hard? so 370 to 411.

man, i jsut have 2x256mb pc2700 cas2.5 samsung, and its running at 400cl2 right now. i dont have any experience with the corsair, but right now i'm in love with samsung...
