You guys need to stop, you don't need to own an iPhone to know the problem first hand. Since it's so popular, everyone knows someone that has one. My brother experiences the problem easily in his house and has happened to him during calls cus his reception isn't the best at his house and as we know, if you don't get good reception, the death-grip kills the reception easily. Then I have some other friends where this happens very rarely to them. You don't need to own it to see the problem first hand.

Not a "death-grip"...

A death-finger :)

I know all you fandroids will love this gem: I had my first dropped call today! It was between me and another iPhone 4 user, so I dont know which phone actually dropped the call. But it did finally happen. Took about 24 days for me to get my first dropped call.

Hopefully this gives all you non iphone 4 users (which is pretty much every single hater here) a REAL look at how often calls actually get dropped

No one cares. Write that shit in your iPhone diary.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my message to let me know you dont care.

I replied because you made it sound like it was a major announcement. Seriously, no one give a fuck. We already told you that your story of never having dropped calls was useless anecdotal evidence and the phone has a design flaw. Nobody here was holding their breath on when you would provide an update of your usage of a phone. lol, it's just a phone.

When even the thoroughly pro-iPhone Anand is throwing in charts like the "Signal Attenuation Comparison" here, you know something stinks.

Whatever, I am trying to be honest about the iPhone 4. My anecdotal evidence is supported by more than 98% of iPhone 4 users that haven't returned it. You just dont seem to get that.

You can take it as me trying to make some major announcement, but thats all in your head. So take it as you may.

That doesn't make any sense. Just because you have a problem doesn't mean you will return it. Most people just learn to live with flawed products.

most people *have* moved on, except for the Apple fanboys who are trying to frame the whole issue as a smear campaign...

More "death grip" FUD.

Sorry Apple, but you have an obvious product flaw.

Just deal with it please and let's move on...

I'll make the video below part of my signature now since Apple is clearly interested in keeping the debate alive.

"Death grip" =/ "Death touch"

So let's see, so far we have hubris, denial, and mudslinging. I like where this Apple tantrum is going.

I wish people would shut the fuck up about the 'death grip'

The reason why the iphone 4 is terrible is because

a) you don't need a 'death grip' to lose bars, you can recreate the lost bars using just the tip of your fingers

and

b) the absolutely retarded placement of the antenna

It amazes me how many dumb as hell apple fanboys get suckered into Steve's spin job.

We've discussed the iPhone 4 antenna issue in several different threads and I don't see this discussion as productive. I'm locking this thread.

In the future, as moderator, I request more civility. I understand brand loyalty on both sides but these are cell phones... Labelling participants as "stupid", "dumb" or even trolls avoids debating on merits and demeans partipants which hinders open discussion.
