Samsung Synmaster 753DF problem

I know this monitor isn't exactly top of the line.. the max resolution is 1280x1024 @ 60Hz... but I've been trying and can't even get 1152x864 @75Hz to work smoothly..

it's obvious that the image looks a little blurry and as if it was shaking a bit..

I've got a gainward gf3 ti200 OCed to 220/500.. with 40.41 drivers..

is it a videocard problem or just a bad monitor? I don't mind using 1024x768 really.. it just looks too big now since I moved from my 14" monitor to this one

I run my 753df at 1152x864 @ 75Hz on a Geforce 2 GTS. I have no problems with shaking. It works wonderfully. I did put together a system for someone with the same monitor that runs off of onboard Sis video. The picture would shake sometimes. I replaced it with another 753df and it still happens. I believe the culprit is the onboard video. I would think your Geforce would be fine, but the only way to tell would be to test another video card.

You really need to be able to test the monitor on another system, just to be sure, but if your old 14" works fine, the 753df is likely the problem. Bummer, they're usually pretty good, all things considered. We have two at our house, I swear by 'em.... then again, I don't run resolutions above 1024x768, damned print's too small, and my eyes are especially sensitive to poor refresh rates, flickering.

If you bought it locally, take it right back, they'll have ways to test it. Otherwise, contact the vendor, see what they say.
