The free shipping made this deal for me. Even actual (non-inflated) shipping costs on a 19" monitor can be a killer. So I'm in. Thanks for the good deal.

Nice find! :D
I was looking for a 21" myself, and you pointed me in the right direction. I decided to go with their NEC AccuSync 120 and used a $30 off $300 coupon.

$459.95-15%-$30=$360.96 Shipped FREE!

Thanks, JumpOnDeals, and keep up the good work! :)

The monitor is capable of running at a resolution up to 1600x1200, however at this resolution it is limited to a refresh rate of 68Hz. This made the SyncMaster 955DF difficult to use at 1600x1200, as flicker was visibly present to our sensitive eyes. On top of the flicker, we also noticed that the 955DF lost quite a bit of sharpness going from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200.

Ouch... I was going to order this monitor for sure, but now i'm having second thoughts.... hmmmmm. I really wanted to be able to run at 1600x1200

I can do 1280x 1024 on my 17 inch :p

1 question, does this monitor have those stupid lines that trinitron tubes and diamondtron do?

also would someone be so kind as to provide a direct link?

NO!
I'm sitting in front of mine right now and there is no line across the center like on the Avitrons.

I have a question though - I'm only getting the 15% off to show up thru "Small Business" section, which charges tax.
Are you sure this is thru the "Home" section?

I bought the monitor not a week before this deal hit, and paid a bit more, but it rules all. It kicks the crap out of my old 17inch Trinitron. :)

This monitor uses an invar shadow mask tube. These tubes don't need any wires to provide support to the mask therefore they do not have any lines across the monitor. That only happens if you have Trintron and DiamondTron tubes.

to anyone that has this monitor (and a radeon 8500) - can you run 1280x1024 at @80 mhz? with the latest drivers from samsung & ati, i cannot. it's not even listed as an option under refresh rates that aren't supported. any solutions?

If your looking for a good deal on an above average middle of the road gaming monitor this is a great one~!

A lot of people here have 'em & love 'em. :)

Others that dislike it have valid points & issues & there are monitors out there that resolve some of the gripes but the price starts climbing fast.

You really can't go wrong with the 955 unless you are a perfectionist/aficionado/video geek. :D
