On my recommendation, a friend of mine purchased a Samsung Syncmaster 900NF.. He mentioned something about a USB cable coming with the monitor which I found odd.. After having read the book that came with his monitor (I didn't actually get to look at the monitor yet), it seems as if the monitor includes a USB port for use with a software called "MouScreen" which allows you to control the "condition" of the monitor..

Can anyone elaborate on all of this..? Would I simply use the USB cable that was included and connect one of my USB ports to the monitor's USB port via this cable..? Is it even worth to do so..? The other thing that I'm trying to figure out is that the monitor documentation mentions the installation of a USB hub (specifically the Samsung USB 415UA).. Why..? Is it simply because there is supposedly a space on the back of the monitor for this specific hub..? I assume that this USB hub is an OPTION and does NOT come with the monitor..?

Thanks. :)

Ok, what about the USB port on the back of the monitor -- is that for MouScreen only..? If so, what specifically does it do..? Thanks.

Shipping with the new SyncMaster monitors (certain models), is the MouScreen software which allow you to change the setting of the monitor using your mouse. The cable that comes with the monitor should be plug into the USB on your computer. It has nothing to do with the USB Hub at all. USB Hub is optional for you to organize the cables if you happen to need more USB ports for your PC. You can try plugging the cable from the monitor to the hub and then to the PC and I think it will work the same way but the USB cable for the Mouscreen works with or without the hub.
