I would double check the warranty. Samsung's page lists 3 years for warranties and I have an IDE Spinpoint and it's 3 years marked on the box.

BTW, these drives are fantastic (spinpoint series). Mine is as fast if not faster than my old WD and a few Maxtor's I have used. They're also VERY quiet. I build my rigs around silence or at least as close as I can get to it with powerful hardware and I wouldn't use any other drive in terms of performance to noise.
