Does the higher density on F4 drives make up for the slower spindle speed Vs. the F3 1.5TB drives?

These are great for backup drives or to use for external storage. I bought one a month ago when they were the same price ($49.99), and have been pretty impressed so far.

I believe you are wrong. This is a good deal though.

You're right. I got my numbers reversed:

1.5TB @ $50 = $0.0333333/GB
2.0TB @ $60 = $0.03/GB.

If the 2TB doesn't go down to $60 again before EOL'd, then this is as close as you'll get!

not a bad drive. i've got a 2TB one and am waiting for another sale so i can finally match it up for a raid 1 nas. but yeah very good price.
