You have to load a launcher anyway whether it's the stock one or not.

Mayhaps, but 3rd party launchers dont have icon notifications on the icon itself. Like the facebook icon. It will show on the icon itself.

Well I nearly cracked but they are back ordered on the Samsung website so I'll just wait and see if they release some funky colours and larger storage versions.

I got mine yesterday, and I'm pissed. I tried to get the wireless charger, and can't. Since the phone doesn't officially go on sale until Friday, I think this is BS.

Other than that, I love the phone so far. I came home today with over 50%. My note 4 couldn't do that, but then the note 4 screen is bigger.

Up to date???? Its only two generations old and certainly doesn't look a quarter as ugly as 99% of the Androids phones out there!

I'm sold!
"Apple... our flagship design is only two generations behind and not as ugly as most run of the mill Androids!"

Anyway lest I give Samsung or any Android make too much credit... most of them have an amazing propensity to screw things up at critical times.

Its by no means too late for Samsung to sabotage the Note 6 by making it moar roundier, moar bezelier, moar fragile, moar color-misbalanced, moar feature-stripped-for a few mm's of needless thinness and moar 2012 than many of 2012's phones actually were.

I hope not... but at this point can't put the possibility past them.

Actually, you can choose 4x4, 4x5, or 5x5.

Long press home screen, screen grid, then choose whatever you want.

Yay, no more Nova lawnchair! I'm sold, buying mine tomorrow.

...anybody know what sort of market there is for the Samsung smartwatch? Or should I get and sell that silly VR thing?

Doh thanks, how long has touchwiz had that option? I guess I have no need for nova launcher anymore.

The internals are all the same (minus battery size). It's all about form factor. Go to Best Buy and play with them.

The Edge is the sleekest 5.5" device ever by a huge margin. It's not just the lack of bezel, but the curve on the edges makes it narrower in hand than other devices of comparable width (S5, Nexus 5X). No wonder people are favoring it...

Yeah I was trying to skim some review now and I see that the edge is actually a bit bigger screen size instead of just the wrap around gimmick.

Wonder if the tmobile store at least has any on display yet as that is a bit closer to me than bestbuy.

Wait... What? Seriously?

You'd rather use the Touchwiz launcher over Nova?

I've argued in favour of TouchWiz before but even I wouldn't do that! ;)

The only reason I was using it was the ability to set 5x5 grid. Which, now that I think about it, I think I could do on my s6. I didn't use Nova on the s6.

T-Mo may have display models, but Best Buy's Samsung store has at least one Edge at each location that isn't attached to the security stuff (so you can feel it in hand).

Whoever has Qualcomm 820 model, can you try to do the following test?
Will tell us how good 820 is holding up compared to Exynos. This Exynos test was done by a XDA member, not me.

I called best buy and they will still be offering the VR/64gb uSD promo tomorrow (launch day). If they have some silver Edges in, I'll buy it there. Otherwise, I'll get one from the local VZW store. There's no way I would be able to get the watch (I'd only sell it), because I wouldn't get the phone in time.

TMobile gets them tomorrow (the 11th)

Just spent about 10 minutes playing with a set on display. As majority of screen size difference is along the main axis, it does give a good 1/4 - 3/8" "longer" view. Neither seems particularly large for me, and the curve seemed a lot less noticeable than described. Recently had an iphone 6 in my hand setting it up for someone, and weight/size seemed comparable.

Only semi-negative thing I noticed was when watching a demo video on the edge in portrait, the slight wrap around of the video at the edge of the screen was noticeable enough to be distracted to it (albeit, I was looking at an off angle to see the effect of the larger wrap around screen).

Given the price difference, not sure how much value an average person would find in the edge over the standard.

Not much value but got some comments from non-tech iphone 6 users about how good looking the screen is.

Got mine delivered today. Seems okay coming from an S6. I'm just looking forward to improved battery life. Thought the S6 was nearly perfect with the exception of that.

There is a BOGO promo for T-mobile. That, combined with the fact that you can get a Gear VR and Netflix for each one is huge. I basically went splitsies with a family member on a new S7 edge so it's pretty much $410~ dollars per phone after tax (will get a rebate for full price of the phone) plus the cost of new line activation ($10/mo since I'm on a grandfathered plan). Assuming you wanted a Gear VR and watch netflix that's basically about $200 for a new S7 edge. No way I can say no to that!!!
