So you have it because of the larger screen? I can definitely understand that. But all the GS3/4s and GNs I've seen have had terrible tints. Maybe I just have better, more sensitive, eyes. I've never worn glasses in my life so they're not inferior. Anyway, enjoy your phones. SONY has an Xperia Z Ultra that the ladies should love (it too has a large screen). But, SONY has been selling it in the 3rd world since people there love convergence devices. I hope they bring it here...

Samsung has produced many a screen for Apple devices ( my 2011 Macbook air & ipad both have Samy screens) I remember people returning MBA's with LG screens in hopes of getting one with the Samsung display. I have never noticed any odd tints on any of my devices. We also have a Samsung 50 inch plasma & love the warm, rich tones the screen delivers.

LOL! Or you are so biased, it's completely clouded your perception of reality.

Samsung has made lots of screens for Apple. I never heard you complain about any Apple screens, which were made by Samsung. I hear the next generation iPad Mini will use a Samsung display. Will you avoid it because of that?

He only complains about the AMOLED screens. He doesn't like the way Samsung calibrates them but goes a bit too far with vitriol.

The only time I've ever seen anyone in real life complain is the edge cases where their use pattern causes burn in. It's rare though (and LOT of people have GS3's and Note 2's).

Not surprised. My s3 is the first/only phone I haven't contemplated throwing at a wall yet. Good enough soc, reliable smooth os and big enough screen.

My Note 2is the best phone I've used. It's no longer a spec leader but last fall it was eyeopening.

Great large screen with good res, amazing battery life, good feel in hand, great dev support, genuinely useful features like s-pen which I regularly use at work, and very good camera for its generation.

I'm somewhat excited for the Note 3 as the 1080p screen will be a nice jump for a 5.7 inch screen. The One Maxx will definitely get a look if it has stylus support and competitive battery life.

I'm going to look at the Z Ultra, but 6.5 inch feels like it crossed the pocket fit line. However if it turns out to be comfortable in suit pants and jeans and battery life is competitive, it'll definitely get a look.

Ditto. And the user replaceable battery/memory sealed the deal. I have mine loaded up with a 64GB microSD that was $40, and a $30 7200mAh battery that will last 3 days per charge. 3 days!!!

Though honestly, those mega batteries do look a bit goofy :p

I use the 3000mah Samsung battery, it's a nice compromise between the stock S3 (too thin) and the big fat batteries.

It does piss me off that Samsung don't engineer a slightly thicker phone with a big battery though. Moto did a fantastic job with their maxx phones.

I meant Samsung's AMOLEDs. Their regular LCD screens are excellent.

True, though the S3 did have better than average battery life against its Android competitors like the Optimus G or HTC One X and seemed equivalent to my iPhone 4S. Regardless, I did find the S3 barely manageable in battery life - which is why the Note 2 was such a pleasant surprise.
