Looking forward to receiving my new Galaxy S22 Ultra 256GB.

Wow...it's already shipped. Expected delivery date is today, April 8th,2022.
The waiting is no fun at all.

Going to be nice to trade in my Note 20 128GB plus my Note 9 128GB,
and get at least some of the $489 spent for the S22 Ultra back in my bank account.

Also, I still have my S10+ Ultra 5G and I am never getting rid of that. It was Samsung's last phone with a headphone jack and the last one that works with the Gear VR.
My S10 is pestering me to remove GearVR claiming it is no longer supported???

I'm hanging on to my Galaxy S10+ for the same reason, mostly the last phone to support Gear VR...

Did you update the S10 to android 12? That removes support for GearVR. I did not update my S10+ and still use my GearVR.

Well I didn't do anything of the sort, however the phone updated itself. We still have S8s and 9s laying around along with a Go and a few Quests so we are all good in the VR space.

Looks like Oculus and Samsung are not working together anymore. Samsung dropped browser support which made the Go less useful. Firefox sucks in VR.

the newer the phone, the higher all the parameters of the characteristics. It has always been so. It all depends on the level of the budget. I prefer S22 for color reproduction and processor

Got to try the S22+ for a brief while and enjoyed it... to the point where I'd rather have that than the Pixel 6 I use as a companion device.

Yeah, Samsung still overdoes the customized UI, there's an occasional bit of jank and it's trying too hard to push its services... but at the end of the day, it still has nicer screens than the Pixels, more flexible camera setups and much more reliable fingerprint readers. Hell, Samsung is even promising OS updates for longer than Google.

Marques Brownlee called the non-Ultra S22 models the "iPhone of Android," and now I know what he means. They're not exceptional in any one way, but they're so consistently good that you can't really go wrong. Now, if we could just get Samsung to offer the S22/S22+ with more than 256GB of storage — that definitely feels like a forced upsell.

I'm also hankering to go back to Samsung from my Pixel 6. Auto brightness on mine is atrocious...never had a smart phone so bad at that. And no screenshare without a Chromecast is also annoying. And the main camera...I was expecting much better...anything not in the center of the screen is so blurry.

I use an S10+ and stick to Samsung phones for this reason too. They have a lot of One UI bloatware and are locked down (no rooting or TWRP support), but everything just works smoothly and the screens are great. I've had other phones in the past with a variety of issues like bluetooth incompatibility, dropping connections, inconsistent camera, etc.

Almost wish I had been able to afford the 512 GB version of the S22 Ultra.

(Would have been nice to have the extra space, since there's no SD card support on the S22 Ultra.)

Love the phone otherwise.

(The looks I get while at work, when I pull a stylus out of my phone...priceless.)
