If the Dell 1100 laser printer is a rebadged Samsung, then it's a pretty decent printer. I just recently refilled the toner and it's still working like a champ.

i actually picked one up. I think its a good deal. Its like buying a cheap toner with the printer included for free =)

Needless to say, I bought one... I'm excited, this is my first laser. Remanufactured toner is about $38 for about 3,000 pages

FWIW, I have a Samsung ML2010 that worked wonderfully...until midway into my second full toner cartridge. Now it jams all the time and I'm looking for a replacement.

Ahh that sucks... mine is showing delivery for next Monday. On the product demo, Consumables>Yield>"Average Cartridge Yield 3,000 standard pages. Declared yield value in accordance with ISO/IEC 19752 (Ships with 1,000 pages Starter Toner Cartridge)"

Where does it say "On the product demo, Consumables>Yield>"Average Cartridge Yield 3,000 standard pages. Declared yield value in accordance with ISO/IEC 19752 (Ships with 1,000 pages Starter Toner Cartridge)"

Can you provide a link to that site?

Answer to my own question:

I tried to link it but it is not linking.

Here is the Google Cache of the deal.

Next to the Product Image, click on the "Product Demo", Click on the "Specifications" Tab and scroll all the way down.

Under Consumables, it should say that it ships with 1,000 pages starter toner cartridge.

I guess I took one for the team. 55 minutes on a cell phone!!! Thank God I'm on the SERO Plan!
Anyhow...

I was on the phone with the Supervisor of buy.com
He studied the product page and acknowledged that it should come with 1,000 starter toner.
He then put me on hold for 20 minutes. He came back and tells me that mine was a refurbished unit and therefore I don't get a starter cartdridge.

I showed him the google cache page of the deal and it took him 20 minutes to verify that it does indeed come with the starter toner.
He then put me on hold for another 20 minutes only to come back to me and tell me that he will escalate this issue to the corporate office and that I should get a free toner. In any case I should not be receiving the toner, he said that I will be able to return the printer for a full refund.
He told me that I should be hearing from him in 24 hours.

Information of the Supervisor of Buy.com

If you want to email him email address is : support@customersupport.buy.com Make sure to put "attention: Alex"

He'll get the email.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks.. I'm not sure if I should call now or not.. I took a screenshot of that page just in case... I suppose I should wait until I get the package, but I safely assume that I won't get the toner...

Here is an update. I haven't heard back anything concrete as to what Buy.com will do.
Following is an email I've received on the day this whole trouble began...

I still haven't heard back. Is this what "escalating" to the corporate
office means?
I expect a reply back by this afternoon. This is as unprofessional as
things can get.

And I got the following "copy and paste" answer.

Is there a way to put more pressure on these guys? Clearly the advertisement was that the printer was.....

1. $49.99 (here is a Screenshot of the AD and here is Google Cache page that I've uploaded to my webspace.)
2. It includes a 1000 page starter toner

I'm afraid that if we don't put more pressure, that they'll drag on and that everything will just fizzle away...

I received my printer today, and it came with both the toner and the power cable. I wish I could help

Can you guys share your order number? copy of invoice? It will certainly help. You guys can PM me or email me.

can you maybe share your order number? with the info I can say "see! others got it how about me?" and hopefully buy.com will admit their mistake.

thanks.
