Good find! I mentioned the 46" one in another post, but for that price someone should skip straight to the 52" instead of the 46".

I wonder if their B&M will price match their online price. anybody know?

Does anybody know if they can return at the B&M store if a tv had to be returned?

I may attempt to price match this at the frys B&M.

This is part of why I posted instead of buying. As far as I can tell you can't return to B&M, at least I can't find any info on Frys.com saying you can. I'm planning on going to a store tomorrow and will ask.

All I could find about returns is this:

Televisions (24" or larger)

Refunds cannot be given on televisions 24" and larger. In-home service is offered by the manufacturer on large TV's and may be your most convenient option. Defective items may be returned within 30 days of the purchase date for replacement or upgrade. Please insure sufficient packaging is used to protect any return shipments. Customer is responsible for any damage caused due to insufficient packaging

That's seems BS to me. I really want this TV but I wont buy it if I can't return it for non-defective reasons.

Price match at B&M is probably YMMV. People over at AVS have been told that Fry's does not price match to Frys.com.

I have tried to PM outpost.com to Fry's when outpost.com had a Samsung HL-T5687S on sale. I was shot down at Fry's, Circuit City, Best Buy, OneCall, Crutchfield and Amazon (calling in the latter three PM requests)

Finally, Vanns.com matched Outpost price. I wanted to get the PM because, being in California, Outpost would have charged me tax and Vanns, being in Montana, didn't. Also, when I had an issue with the TV, Vanns offered to pick it up and ship me a new one.

Hopefully this helps someone out.

Fry's price matched it and added 2nd day shipping onto it. The TV is sweet....

so we got it for 2931 +tax.

I was happy with it, since I know I can return it, if i have any issues.

definitely worth it, considering every where else is 3699

The Samsung 71f series is awesome. I have a 40" sitting on my desk in my room that I got a few months ago.

What firmware release has everyone been getting with these. Seems from reading people are experiencing less TBE and studder with the 200X firmware over the 100X.

I picked up a 5271 @ frys locally in renton for $2900 during the black friday weekend. FW was 2002 and I have very little TBE and haven't seen studder yet. A great TV.

Is frys.com price good for online only? I might have to return in store and pick one up online.

Thanks for the response.

I picked up a 4071F Saturday after Thanksgiving at Sears and have 1009. I definitely get some studder but it isn't terrible but I don't have anything other than component to test it with. TBE is hard to see with the AMP on low but shows pretty badly on anything else.

Rarely but sometimes I also get these strange heat waves like you would see coming off of blacktop in the summer on some movies when people move quickly, especially noticed this in Transformers.

I don't know whether to take it back in hopes for a 200X or hope Samsung fixes these with a FW release. The picture is amazing on these sets!

Got this info from:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb...=12429454#post12429454

There is a method to determine the build date of the set from the serial number. A serial number will look something like this:

AK2V3CFPBxxxxx

The 'PB' is the key. The P refers to the year, P=2007, and the number or letter that follows is the build month:
1 ? January
2 ? February
3 ? March
4 ? April
5 ? May
6 ? June
7 ? July
8 ? August
9 ? September
A ? October
B ? November
C ? December

FW 100x to 200x was switch during sometime in October, so if you get anything with a build date after November, you are assured to get FW 200x. I think the serial # is printed on the box, gotta check later though. Hope this help potential retail buyers.

Fry's B&M doesn't like PMing Frys.com. Also, Fry's B&M has a 15% restocking fee on TVs where as frys.com doesn't allow TVs larger than 27" to be returned. Choose your poison I guess.

I bought mine a while ago at fry's B&M. Love the set.

I was able to get my TV price matched at the Renton Fry's based on Fry's.com price. He included the 2nd day shipping though. You can try too.

Paid the same price for this exact TV several weeks ago at amazon (although the price has gone up). Excellent TV and I love it, just call up Samsung to get the latest firmware... it has some issues sometimes with the stock one.
