Looks interesting:
LCD - Digital
172X-Silver
SyncMasterTM 172X-Silver (17 inch monitor)

The Samsung SyncMaster 172x is an analog/digital 17-inch TFT-LCD monitor delivering a 500:1 contrast ratio, 0.264mm pixel pitch, 1280 x 1024 maximum resolution, scanning frequency of 30-80 kHz horizontal (analog) and 56-75 Hz vertical, and horizontal/vertical viewing angle of 160/140 degrees. It features a narrow bezel and slim design with dual CPU inputs and a fast response time (12ms).

This looks sweet. And I thought I just made my final decision on what monitor I want. I guess not. I thought I wanted a 1760NX but now this looks very appealing, especially the 12ms response.

I called PCMall and they said it was due in next week. I want one of these. I don't know about ordering from PCMall though.

This looks like a sweet dual mon setup but it better drop in price a bunch pretty quick, seing as you get get a dell 2001FP for 750 and ive seen this around 600.

I found another review of this monitor here. Check this out:

Update - 01/04/2004: In an email received from Samsung, they have notified me that the unit tested in this review was actually a 25ms unit, and the 172X will not be coming to market until the 12ms units are perfected and can be released as such. The pricing structure shown on Samsung's various web sites is for the 12ms version of the 172X, but since the test unit received is not one of the these the pricing becomes a moot point in out final verdict. With that in mind, and the fact that the 172X test unit received had performance far better than many LCD panels I've seen rated for 25ms I will still be with-holding the Editor's Choice Award, but I will be changing TheTechZone.com's final verdict of the 172X from an 8.5/10 to a 9/10. In re-reading my review I've also removed some statements that regardless of the situation had a unintended and undesirable negative connotation to them. Samsung has assured me that the 172X in it's 12ms version will available sometime in 2004, and we will definitely have a test sample to see how the technology pans out

(from last page of review)

No wonder Tom's hardware gave it a bad review....duh

So, it sounds like the shipment that PCMall is getting next week will have a 12ms response time for sure. Sweetness.....
