No you're still not getting it.

7000k is referred to as "cooler" than 6500k when specifically talking about colour temperatures. You could say it's a "higher" temperature as well but not "warmer".
Then no, I don't get it, because all the sources I know describe it just the way I describe it. From what I read, a 7000k white is cooler than a 6500k white; but the 7000k has a hotter (and higher) colour temperature than a 6500k white.

That is to say;
Describing the quality of light itself is subject to "warm" = redder, and "cool" = bluer.
Describing the colour temperature itself is subject to "warm" = higher K (bluer) and "cool" = lower K (redder)

I would say you have it just right.

I loathe OLED panels. The ones Samsung uses just makes for a terrible white balance. I did however once encounter an OLED that had a decent white balance and that was the Razr Maxx HD.

Probably one made by the only other manufacturer of OLED screens for smartphones, AU Optronics.

My note 2 looks great. There are adjustments. Use them.

Those solve nothing. Even on the GS4 all they fix is the color temperature, it's still the same oversaturated OLED we've always known, and even with the fix to color temperature the calibration is still wonky and causes some off colors at times.

Can you post up a site that can back up your claims?

Everything I have read about the gs4 screen is a completely new process and matrix array shaped as a diamond that used lasers to get them in.

It is not the same oled at all like you claim

Do you two like being seen as borderline batshit insane by most of the people on this board? Good gracious.

Describing the colour temperature itself is subject to "warm" = higher K (bluer) and "cool" = lower K (redder)

The confusion comes in because lower K (i.e. lower in temp) gives warmer looks. I tend to simply think white balance when it comes to color temperature.

The higher the K = More blueish white = Cooler looks
The lower the K = More yellowish white = Warmer looks

Often times ideal color temperature for screens is said to be 6500K (daylight), but as you know there are many other qualities that affect rays, so it's simply one reference point at this time.

Borderline batshit insane? Really? Sounds really dumb if you believe that unless you're just playing to the crowd. Either way, I don't care what you or anyone else thinks of me. But it's nice to see that you like to speak for others, either out of sense of wanting to belong or as the leader of a band of morons. Same difference.

Also, I may have my differences with grkM3, just as I have differences with others, but he's not batshit insane and you're an ass for calling him that. I don't know what your problem is but, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, you playing to the crowd is a sad attempt for you to be 'accepted' in whatever clique you think exists here. You're a sad man for having that line of thought.

I'm locking. The more insightful discussion - in my opinion anyway - was earlier in the thread and now we seem to have moved on to personal insults.
