Samsung Galaxy Tab - How to disable cellular antenna?

I recently purchased a Tab for strictly Wifi. I have no Sprint contract or cellular service. As an extension of that thought, I'm wondering if it's possoble to disable the cellular antenna to save battery? I know it has an airplane mode but doesn't that disable the wifi as well?

No, Airplane mode does not disable Wifi at all just cellular data.

I thought Airplane mode kills *all* wireless?? Bluetooth, wifi, cellular... everything.

Yea, but then you can turn the radios back on individually.

Surprises the heck out of me, but you're right. It appears the cellular is now off but the WiFi is on. Bang up job - thank you!
