Anyone know where I download the Windows 7 driver so I can view onboard and micro SD storage on my Windows 7 PC?

Two things show up unknown in device manager: android phone and serial. Have not been able to get drivers for these.

Windows explorer shows both removable device icons but they don't work.

I had an HTC Vivid that worked fine without drivers but this does not.

PC has Windows 7 Pro 64 bit edition.

Make sure you go into settings and change the USB connection to USB Mass Storage.

Yeah that was the first thing I checked.
I'm at another computer so I will try it again. It may have been that POS laptop I was using. :D

I'm having the same problem with the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T). When I connect to Windows Vista using USB, it fails to detect drivers (for both the SD card and the phone) and I cannot transfer files between the PC and the device. I have tried the 'debug' mode in settings, and activating the USB transfer from the phone once the cable is connected. Nothing seems to work. Please advise!

Download Kies from Samsung. It should have drivers as part of the install package.

The issue is the external microSD (physically in the cell phone) needs to be unmounted from the cell phones file system (unix speak) before the microSD card can be writable by the PC operating system. (The external microSD can't be simultaneously writable by the Cell and PC... reasonable I guess). So unmount the external microSD from the cell applications/settings/storage/Unmount SD card. Then make sure the USB mass storage setting is set to applications/settings/Wireless and networks/USB settings/ USB mass storage. First set in SW then physically connect the cable.

Tried that - This is what I'm going through

SGS2 LTE with rogers, Canada
32 GB SD card
Newest version of Kies 2.1

When I connect the phone to my Windows 7 64 computer via USB (tried un-mounting first) /settings /USB utilities /connect storage to PC (plug phone in via USB) /Connect USB Storage:

1) I get 2 removable drives under /My Computer that I cannot access (says please insert disk) These drives show as RAW under /disk management and windows wants to format (read ***below)
3) KIES cannot connect with phone (device not supported)
4) Nothing shows up under Windows /Device manager

So I try - /Settings /Development /USB Debugging (check) /plug in phone /Pull down slider from top and select connect USB:

1) I get 2 removable drives under /My Computer that I cannot access (says please insert disk)
2) KIES CAN connect with my phone, but I CANNOT transfer data (shift right click "transfer to device" does not work. **Wireless KIES operation DOES transfer data
3) Windows device manager shows "Samsung Android ADB Interface" - no yellow triangle

I did manage to access SD on one occasion when I changed it's Drive Letter under Disk Management - I could not repeat this and lost access on second try. With that, I have tried PC reboot, phone reboot, un-mounting SD card prior to PC connect, tried connecting without SD installed, tried uninstalling KIES, tried with new version of KIES, different cables, different USB ports.

***Plugged phone into a laptop with XP Pro and it worked perfectly - both internal and SD memory were accessible straight away. It's obviously a Windows 7 64 issue I'm having but I don't know how to fix it. I won't go into my Samsung customer service experience with this issue, lol. Looking for help anywhere now

Thank you!

I had the same trouble with sg2 with no SD installed, xp works fine, but win7 gets nothing

solution for win7:
settings/wireless and network/usb utilities/connect storage to pc

it'll make you disconnect & reconnect usb if it's already connected, but I guess that's better than reinstalling xp

Android 2.3.6, Win7 ultimate 32bit

Kies didn't work for me either maybe it has a similar solution. Love wireless sync for iOS 5! good luck

1. Download Kies and Install - This installs drivers. http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/
2. Plug phone into USB port
3. Drop down the notification menu and select "Select to copy files to/from your computer".
4. Press the "Connect USB Storage" button.

This will mount 2 drives, one for internal SD card and one for external. If this is still not working reboot PC and phone. If that is still not working, try a new microUSB cord. I have had a microUSB cable with a galaxy 1 that came with a bad cable, it would charge but not connect to the PC.

These steps apply with USB debugging on. If it is off it should automatically connect and inside explorer it will show as "SPH-D710" and if you open that it shows "Card" and "Phone" paths.

Also, if you have usb debugging on the phone will not connect with kies.

This is a much better solution! After installing Kies on win7, windows autoplay will launch itself & my sg2 will show up in my computer, much like xp all without even launching the software. Thanks

I can no longer put my phone in usb storage mode, so I can drag and drop files on Windows 7 x64. I know I can since I put 10GB+ of music on my sd card last week. When I plug the cable in, there is no "usb connected" in the notifications bar. Also, if I go to Settings|Wireless and Network|USB Utilities, and I press the button "Connect storage to PC" it says to unplug the cable first. (If usb debugging is on, it prompts me to turn of that first also.) So, I do then hit button again, prompting me to connect cable, and that cause the device to charge but not to go into usb storage mode.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with T-Mobile, and I'm using the stock USB cable.

I just downloaded kies, installed it, downloaded and installed the kies upgrade, then plugged my skyrocket in and I was transferring files. No problems here...

You just need to install Kies to pc, win7 should be totally wireless, install most updated java drivers then goto kies icon in phone, it will give you a 192.168.***.*** address go there with whatever browser you are using.your phone will give a warning about wireless access from there you should be able to see whats in your phone from your PC did this with Win 7 x64 and vista, I hope this helps
