I tried out that damn Swype thing, which sucks by the way, and ever since then I've had a different keyboard that absolutely blows, and I cannot figure out how to go back to the old keyboard I had before. I've tried clearing Swype data, tried finding other options, but nothing I've done gets rid of the black Swype ugly horrible keyboard.

Help?

Long press on a text input field. A message should pop up with "Input method." Tap that, then select which keyboard you want to use.

I think you should give it a little longer of a test run, Swype truly is like the fastest/easiest input method.

I've been using it for a few days, and I find it cumbersome and unusual. No reason to use it when I can type just as fast and correct mistakes if I make them just like I have to in Swype regardless.

Yeah, I agree that swype is too cumbersome. It's good in theory, but if you miss a letter in a word, you have to go through and do the whole word over again instead of just correcting your mistake. NTY.

Get the gingerbread keyboard. Swype started to bug me after about three days.

Swype is great, IMO, but the inability to easily delete words from the custom dictionary is REALLY annoying and drops it a few notches.

I've been switching between Swype and the Gingerbread keyboard which is a massive improvement over the Eclair/Froyo ones (the only stock Android ones I have experience with).
