Are they running at the same clocks though? The only thing this tells me is that if a phone can have 12CU RDNA3 then AMD APUs are extremly underpowered.
No.Are they running at the same clocks though?
Well, all things considered in real world usage it's not great:Did anyone like Geekerwan get to measure the efficiency of this SOC?.
I remember Andrei and Golden Reviewer going back and forth on how Golden Reviewer’s measurements are garbage. So don’t know how reliable his data is
There were some mutterings that Geekerwan will not make a dedicated video for E2400 in either hid English or Chinese, but he will do the benchmarks/power measurements and upload them to his website- socpk.Did anyone like Geekerwan get to measure the efficiency of this SOC?.

I saw that video and there is huge possibility those phone didn't connect at same band, check signal quality one is close to full bar and other is barely half.Well, all things considered in real world usage it's not great:

It's very common that Samsung modem has worse power efficiency and worse signal. GSMArena call test also shows that (when compared against S23).I saw that video and there is huge possibility those phone didn't connect at same band, check signal quality one is close to full bar and other is barely half.
Samsung modems in Google Pixel phones are potatoes. It's very common that Samsung modem has worse power efficiency and worse signal. GSMArena call test also shows that (when compared against S23).
Same with Tensor, i wish they had data for these SoCsSocpk doesn't have single Exynos soc,
Geekerwan has previously tested the Exynos 2200 and OG Tensor chip. You can find those curves in his English Channel video about Power Efficiency.Same with Tensor, i wish they had data for these SoCs
They never fail to disappoint, sadly.Samsung modems in Google Pixel phones are potatoes.
Yes but S24 ultra review also show dropping in Call score. It's very common that Samsung modem has worse power efficiency and worse signal. GSMArena call test also shows that (when compared against S23).

Samsung modem in Pixel is external modem, not included in soc, most of time external modem use more power, not just Samsung when 5G came out Qualcomm soc with external modem were power hungry too.Samsung modems in Google Pixel phones are potatoes.
SD865 is paired with an external modem, and it was a very decent SoC. The TSMC node probably helped, as it's successors moved to Samsung for 2 following generations.Samsung modem in Pixel is external modem, not included in soc, most of time external modem use more power, not just Samsung when 5G came out Qualcomm soc with external modem were power hungry too.
True but at that time there was lot of noise on how 5G eat lot of battery,SD865 is paired with an external modem, and it was a very decent SoC. The TSMC node probably helped, as it's successors moved to Samsung for 2 following generations.
S23 vs. S24 difference is on another level and S24 even has larger battery.Yes but S24 ultra review also show dropping in Call score.

Same battery size it drop from 39H to 35, also if you adjust battery size difference between S24 ultra and s24/s24+ isn't much.
Problem with that video is two different networks were connected I researched it and you can see what those icons mean here

One device were connected to 5G and another device were connected to hybrid network with both 4G and 5G, whatever that guy said he is lying.

For A5X audience that's soc is perfect, if they put X core there what's the point of FE series?View attachment 94190
Samsung Exynos 1480 SoC leaked.
This SoC will have an AMD RDNA iGPU. First time in a Midrange Exynos.
The CPU performance is disappointing. This SoC will go into the Galaxy A55 launching this year, which will be priced at ~$450.
For that price, there a lot of alternatives with Mediatek or Qualcomm processors with much stronger performance.
Atleast I wish Samsung put in a Cortex X core in these 1x80 series Exynoses.
Their OneUI software skin is quite heavy, and strong ST performance is essential to run it smoothly.
IMO FE line shouldn't exist at all.For A5X audience that's soc is perfect, if they put X core there what's the point of FE series?

With midrange you always have to make sacrifices, your graph shows why Samsung is Right, A54 was among top seller, because it offer all around features other midrange don't offer.IMO FE line shouldn't exist at all.
What Samsung should do is sell the last year's base S model for the FE price point.
Example for 2024:
S24: $800
S23: $650
A55: $500

Hence, Samsung should ensure their customers get a good experience, by putting X core in the SoC.
It is necessary, because as I explained, Samsung's OneUI skin is quite heavy. Hence, strong ST performance is essential for smooth and snappy performance.
Take the Pixel 7A for comparison. It can be found in the same price range as A54. But it is much smoother and snappier than A54 thanks to the Cortex X core (and the lighter Pixel skin on top).
The A5x line has always shipped with underpowered SoCs.
A51: Exynos 9611
A52: Snapdragon 750G
A53: Exynos 1280
A54: Exynos 1380
All these SoCs were weak for their time and price point. The only outlier is the A52s 5G, which shipped with the 778G.
This has become problematic over time, as the A5x line has risen in price, and especially as last year, Samsung discontinued the A7x line. Which means, the A5x is now the premier of the A series.
