Samsung Digimax V3 intermitent problems with 2 GB SD cards

Had this camera 5 years. Came with 32 MB SD card, bought a couple of 256 MB SD cards, no problem. Just bought a couple of 2 GB SD cards, Kingston off Newegg, they arrived today.

I had big problems getting the cards to work in the camera but then both cards worked. I took a couple of shots with each. The camera reported 1041 shots available, in the neighborhood of what I'd expect. I could view the photos fine off my cardreader on my PC. I put the cards back into the camera and it won't read them. Can't format them, nothing. What could be up with this? TIA for help.

i believe it is a problem with 2GB card in general on older devices.

solution: get a 1gb card, or new camera :evil:

Thank you! Bummer, I just bought two of these 2 GB cards. Well, I guess I can use them as a flash device with my card reader and maybe in an FM modulator/MP3 player in my car.

Funny thing is sometimes I turn on the camera and it works, other times 45 seconds after turning on the camera (talk about slow!) it finally says "Card Error!" Even when it works, it takes over ten seconds for the camera to figure out the card, and it looks like most of the time it just never figures it out. In truth, I'm not too bad off using the 256 MB cards (I have two of them). I get over 125 max size MP3s on each of those.
