For a fixed-lense i much rather have the <b>seemingly</b> smaller Sigma DP2. That Samsung <b>seemingly</b> is just too big for its target market. (i emphasize seemingly because I can't tell how big the actual Samsung is)

i very much doubt it's a fixed lens system. what's pictured is, presumably, a mock up or maybe an engineering sample.

i also doubt there is a k-bayonet under there. doesn't make much sense to rid yourself of the mirror box and then not take advantage of the space. though it may use the signaling from the k-bayonet.

It's looks too large to be a fixed-lens camera...I think it will be similar to the Panasonic G1 in concept.

Also, having a fixed lens just isn't very versatile for the target market (people who want better image quality than a P&S but don't want to lug around something as big/heavy as a DSLR).

true, it would however make sense to at least be able to take PK lens via an adapter (like micro 4/3 can use 4/3 lens via adapter) or:
a) they potentially alienate existing users
b) have to bring out a whole new lens range from scratch

That's pretty clear - the body on the right has a lens release button.

Assuming Samsung makes digicams, who is their lens supplier? Found this in a review:

"According to the press release, the system allows users to deploy interchangeable lenses. A big question that we have is what lens mount will this camera use? schneider brands a lot of the lenses for their digicams, i wouldn't be shocked if they did the optical work for this camera.

and i don't think it'll be a huge task to sell a few lenses. remember we're talking about people who are buying cameras from guys in blue shirts. two or maybe three lenses is about all this class of consumer will really want.

Now that Panasonic GH1 is announced, I wonder how NX will match it.
Though GH1 looks quite good, I've never been a fan of small sensors so I'm hoping NX to be as good as GH1.

I think that you underestimate the potential but yes, I don't expect to see many 600/4s on these! 😛
