Samsung A10 Laptop

I have a samsung a10 laptop and recently it has started to freeze up on me. It just locks up totally, and i have to switch it off and start again. I have noticed that it just does it randomly, i.e. not when i'm in a specific program etc.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

I wouldn't go that far just yet. First, I'd run Windows update and see if there are some new drivers/patches you can apply. Second, I'd find/buy/borrow a spare stick of RAM and run with that. If all those fail, then yeah, consider starting from scratch.
 
I would also suggest playing around with the memory, reseat it, put it in the other slot (if you have one), swap it out with other memory, etc.
