SAMSUNG 955DF-T/T 19" DynaFlat CRT $175.00

please show that it is a crt in the title, will save a lot of us looking for an lcd from opening message. Thanks. Also, price in title helps too. Dang but those lcds have spoiled me, this would have been an excellent monitor for me a year ago.

Well "DynaFlat" is kind of a dead give away that it is a CRT. Samsung LCD's are labled as "SyncMaster". Plus it wouldn't make too much sense for a LCD to be labled with the word "Flat" attached to it, since there aren't any round screen LCD's, being flat is kind of a given.

Nice find!

You could save a little (maybe) going with Dell. With free shipping and tax my price was $191.21

Dell deal

Also, if you don't feel like waiting for a monitor to ship you could pay just a bit more and go to Best Buy.

Best Buy deal

The Dell deal sure is better for me being in NJ!

Total Price tax & shipping: $179.96

Even with BB being 15 min away in a 3% tax zone, it would be $26 more.

Well actually... "Syncmaster" is Samsung's brand name for both their CRT and LCD displays...

a little OT but seems good if ya like CRT's. I know a lot of people on this forum dont like them but that aside. I've been looking for a 21". What do you guys think about this monitor?

it came up to 474.02 w/sh and tax. it has free shipping.

I've had my Samsung 955DF for about 4 years. It's starting to get very dark - brightness/contrast on the monitor are maxed out and software gamma settings for video card are pumped up. Also the tint on the screen is starting to peel. But I have to admit, for the first 3 years, it was worth every penny for this monitor. I guess 3 years from now everyone will have LCDs anyway. A lot of gaming houses/cyber cafes use these monitors. Can't go wrong at this price.

I bought mine in the summer of 2002 for about $108 (coupons, PM, free shipping, etc). Great monitor in terms of clarity and brightness, but the geometry is damn near impossible to get right. It could be just mine that is faulty, but I have spent numerous hours here and there just trying to get the shape of the picture right.

Looks nice, price is too steep for me though. One thing that drives me nuts is when they don't post the refresh rates at the different resolutions. Resolution max of 2048 x 1536 is sweet, but not if it's at 50Hz. 😉

I went to their site and found this data...

2048x1536 @ 68Hz
1920x1440 @ 73Hz
1856x1392 @ 75Hz
1600x1200 @ 87Hz

Not bad.

My bad, I was referring to the monitor that LokiX was looking at. The 21" Viewsonic G220fb. Sorry, I should have included that in my post.

Thanks for the input Lurker. i was looking at it from Newegg but i can finance it from dell and pay it off in 2 payments instead of 1 lump some. makes it a little easier for me.
