hi guys, this looks like a great deal...

but there is one thing which kinda worries me about buying a monitor online: What happens if any damage occurs during the shipping which renders the monitor unusable? Would you have to take that up with Buy.com or the ones who shipped it?
 
If UPS damages it, you have to get your money back from UPS.

It's still worth the risk, this is the best monitor deal I've seen on this board.

Is this monitor better than the Samsung 950p ? I've heard pluses for both, and they're about the same price (269- 25 coupon at gateway acc. store free ship for the 950p), so is the 955 flatter? Or more precise on line straightness?

I bought my 32" WEGA SONY TV online and had it shipped to me. The first one was broke by the shipping Co. Sent it back and got a perfect one now. The online companies make it safe for you to have delicate things shipped, by taking them back at their charge if they are broke.
 
damn if i didnt just buy a 21" trinitron (f'n DROOL... ) i'd have got two of these suckers.. stuck with 21/15 trinitron dual monitors :0
 
ok, thanks guys for letting me know. i feel a little bit better now with the two reponses i got regarding the shipping topic. guess i will order this tomorrow.

btw, i saw this Samsung monitor at Best Buy two weeks ago, and it looked pretty good. the reason all the monitors there look bad is because of that poor signal which corrupts the picture on all of the monitors there, and it still looked nice and sharp when compared to the other more expensive monitors there.

My cousin needs a new monitor, but he's concerned about warranties. What if the monitor fizzles out in one year or six months? Is that covered by Buy.com or Samsung? What's the longest warranty available?
