Samsung 940MW lcd developed dead pixels, 7 months old.

Ok, so I have a 940mw lcd (19" widescreen 1440x900) that I've had for about 7 months and today it developed a few dead/bad pixels. There are three(I believe) that are all touching each other. I also noticed two or three other smaller irregularities on other parts of the screen(I think it could be a bad sub pixel, it's not very noticeable). I think samsung wants 10 dead pixels to cover under warranty(according to their site), but I've heard if you have several in the same area it could qualify too. Any possibility it might be covered? It's a real eyesore to me. Here's a picture. The font is 12pt.

It actually sort of looks like its deeper than the pixels though, almost like it could be a splinter of wood behind the lcd panel or something, especially since it's brown. I've never heard of brown bad pixels. Could some kind of dirt/etc get in the lcd? And yes I have cleaned the lcd, it's not dirt on it. Thanks.

Have you tried 'massaging' the pixels. Sometimes pixels are just stuck, and massaging it gently with your fingers could get it back. If not, check out the dead pixel policy fine print. If I recall correctly, the dead pixel policy has certain conditions like if the pixels are clumped together, pixels all in center, what colour they died, etc. Depending on those conditions, they might take it back when fewer pixels died (i.e. 5 in center, 10 scattered). Good luck.

Nope, it doesn't look like a dead pixel clump to me. The shape is all wrong. Talk to Samsung support and send that pic. It looks like dirt.

Yeah, I tried massaging the pixels. I saw on another forum that rubbing in a figure 8 could help, but it didn't help, and I've done it for a while.

Thanks though. I guess I'll have to dig out the manual, to find the fine print.

Ok, so I was looking more, and it really did look like dirt or something due to the color/shape/depth, so I thought to myself "what if I try to get it to move by tapping the lcd lightly." So I tapped the lcd with my figernail, and lo and behold, the "dead pixel" fell down, and now cannot be seen at all. This is AWESOME! I guess somehow I got a piece of dirt between parts of the panel. Wow, I feel so much better. I wonder if the other slightly strange pixels are actually smaller fuzzy dust particles in the panel. The strange pixels don't have a particular color(which subpixels do), but are sort of like blurry pixels.
