I am surprised about that response time too, although when watching my buddies same monitor I didn't notice any ghosting at all playing desert combat.
 
this panel is a PVA. Its got good color and picture quality (8-bit panel), its not for gaming, but its a sweet monitor for everything else! (well, maybe not video editing)
