Though the prices on these are getting lower, this is the lowest one I could find. Looks like a decent deal, with free shipping, and possibly tax free. I might go ahead and jump on it myself soon. Site seems fairly reputable on google shopping, though it is lesser known.

I've ordered from 3BTech before without issue, just in case anyone was wondering. As far as I can tell, they are a decent legit company.

Dang, what happened to SSD prices lately? I bought this exact drive for $135 from Newegg about 3 months ago. :(

Yes, they've been going up. I snagged some 30GB OCZ Agility drives for $40, some 90GB Agility 2 drives for $60, some 80GB Intel X25-M G2 drives for $60, and some OCZ Vertex Plus R2 120GB drives for $65 ea, all of those brand-new.

Now Newegg wants more than $70 for a 120GB *refurb* Agility 2 drive.

What happened to the prices on these? Also are there any good deals on 16GB laptop memory in 12800 (1600)? Did the prices of memory go UP? Reading reviews from around the end of 2012 seems people were getting deals of under $100 on 16gB and now for something like the Kingston Hyper X or Corsair Vengeance it's upwards of $140-$150...

I just bought one of these from newegg, then later realized it is the MZ-7TD250BW, which is much slower writing than the $250 MZ-7PD256BW "PRO" version

BIG price difference between these. Oh well, it's still faster than the mechanical I had. I just thought samsung had a 250gb and not a 256 for the 840 model. I forgot they had 2 versions with a speed difference (mlc/tlc version? I don't really know what the difference is).

Is there reliability issue with the 840 or something vs the Pro? I understand the Pro is faster but it still seems like such a steep price difference to have 170~ vs 240~ for the same size capacity.

Cant even find Patriot Pyro SE 240 (out of stock and showing discontinued on NE)
Possible inventory clear?
I think I would hold off a bit, espec at these prices.

TT likes the new Sandisk, and OCZ Vertex 450 has similar numbers

And I know of no SSD firmware update that doesnt wipe drive, but I could be wrong.

The OCZ Agility 30GB update from 1.5 or 1.6 (whatever was on the drive) to 1.7 was a non-destructive update. (They also have destructive updates, to clear the drive and upgrade.)

Hmm, I remember updating the firmwares on my Crucial M4s and an Intel SSD w/o wiping the drive. Haven't updated recently though. I have to take another look to see if there are any firmware updated for my drives.
