Samsung 830 SSD 128gb $69.99

YES! In for one! This is the deal I was waiting for. Now all my boxes at home will have SSD OS drives. 😀 Thanks OP!!

in for one for my first SSD!

These things are more addictive than potato chips. After you use one you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. Using a computer with an ordinary 7200-rpm drive is painful now.

I bought one of these Samsung 830s a few weeks ago when Newegg had their sale going on. I think I paid $90 for it. I'm very happy with it so far. Can't go wrong with Samsung SSDs; I also have one of their first SSDs, a 470-series. Been running great for about a year now.

To replace my Vertex 4 or not....

Isnt the Vertex 4 faster?

I honestly don't pay attention to SSD speeds the last couple generations as they all seem comparable in real world usage. I generally go for Intel but just got a 256GB Agility 4 for $150 delivered... My first venture with a OCZ SSD. I gave them a chance as my current power supply is OCZ and has been dead quiet/ flawless for 8 months now. (ZT 550w)

Generally consider size, cost and reliability over speed. Went with this based mostly on price, and that the latest firmware seems quite reliable.

I owned 2 Kingston V+200s/V+100s, 2 Intel 320's, 1 Intel X-25m, 1 Crucial M4, 1 Corsair Force and now the Agility 4. I never had issues with any of them, and can't really see any difference in daily use.

Speed importance of SSD's seem overblown.

/ Pointless Rant

Damn, this is very tempting. As much as I'd like to add this to my 256GB 830, the money really needs to go to a new motherboard (dead front USB headers). Sigh...

Yeah, In many scenarios it is faster but looking at the endurance testing over at XS it makes me want an 830.

Tiger is offering a 120GB SSD for $39 with the purchase of Windows 8 upgrade at $39. edit: I didn't save the email, can I can't find it on their site. It may have been a one day deal...but definitely SSD's are falling quick.

Love my SSDs though they are smaller size. I have two Intel 80GB and a Kingston 96GB. I would love to purchase this one with free shipping and no CA. tax but BF is right around the corner
