there is no link. it's a code, and it's right there in the OP. it won't be active until 9 AM pacific.

still mulling this. i think i'm gonna do it.

Damn.. I have a crucial c300 64gb that has served me well. I don't need a new ssd right now (only using the c300 for windows and some programs). But I could load all my games on this Samsung... How does the 830 compare to the 840?

Click here for comparisons between 830 and 840 pro

The 840 uses slower memory with less endurance (TLC instead of MLC) we don't know how it will perform yet for it hasn't been released yet to the general public and Samsung wants everyone to see the 840 pro numbers for currently the 840 pro is the best out there for consumer ssds. (Aka create marketing buzz)

Thanks Roland00Address. Sorry for being lazy. 😳

edit: Wow 840 pro looks like a monster. Since I'm not in desperate need of a new drive, I think I'll wait for one of those. Or see how the vanilla 840 performs.

Screw it... in for 1. Bye bye POS OCZ Solid 3.

The extra capacity will help, but mostly I'm hoping it is way more reliable than my OCZ brick, which blue screens me about 1-2 times every time I boot up.

Anyone give me a rough idea of performance comparison between the two? I don't need tons of graphs, just a rough idea of what to expect. I already bought it.

I feel like you'll enjoy the surprise more... 😉

Black Friday is right around the corner...

Yes...Hoping to see some good deals. Last year it wasn't that exciting. I ended up getting a 2 - 24inch 1080p tv's for $80 each, 2 Ipod touchs for -50 each and 2 years of xbox live gold for $60.

$190 for this is still good...I was going to bite at 199, but jumped on the Intel 240GB for $140 on Monday.

In for 1. Now I need to find a use for it (sigh...) I have a soft spot in my heart for large, fast, reliable and discounted solid state hard drives.

I'm still debating if I should hop on this. Seems like a good deal for an SSD to stick into my wife's aging laptop.

I stuck one in my wife's 2006 Dell, and the difference was huge! I used to hate working on her laptop until putting an SSD in it. And this was with a slower OCZ Agility 2, so this will be even better. It will feel like a new laptop.

If you miss out on the nEgg inventory or the Noon PST cut off, Tiger Direct is clearing them out today too, ends at midnight.

Just wanted to say thanks. I am loving this thing. OCZ was crashing upwards of every 5 minutes. So far, zero problem with Samsung. And its quick too.

It is better, but also more expensive. I bet in real life applications you would be very unlikely to see any performance difference between 830 and 840 Pro. Personally I'm watching to pick up 830 if the price drops around BF/CM.

Same here, hanging tight until black friday. At the rate these things are dropping in price, we might see some very hot deals by then.
