Samsung 753DF problem

Hello,

When the monitor is turned off for a while and when turned back on, the size of the screen is changed and after waiting a bit, the size goes back to the right size/memory size it was changed to with the controls. i was just wondering if it's just my monitor or is it like this for all monitors. if it's just me, is there a way to fix this? thanks

This is not standard behavior for monitors. I have the same model, and mine has never done this. I'm at a loss as to what to suggest to fix it though. Sorry.

Interesting. My friend bought this monitor at my urging two years ago and has no such problems.

There should be a "reset" command somewhere in the monitor's menu. Have you tried that?

Also, are you trying to run the monitor out of spec? I.E. trying to run at it a higher resolution than it was designed to do?

Do you have the latest driver for you monitor loaded on the system?

I DL"d the driver off Samsungs' website just two weeks ago. (for WinXP) so I know they are keeping up w/drivers.

I also have that monitor and have never experienced such behavior. If you could find another computer to connect that monitor to for testing purposes, that might yield some solid info. Or, try another monitor on your computer and see whether you get the same behavior. Such tests may indicate some other cause, such as your video card and/or driver.

I have two 753DFs, except they're the older beige ones, not the silver/black ones and haven't had any problem with picture shrinkage. Looks like your monitor is just messed up. Sorry.

One of mine makes a high pitched sound every so often. Then again it's 3.5 years old so maybe it's gonna die soon. Fact of the matter is, it's a cheap monitor. So-called disposal hardware. Bad for the environment. Ah well.

It's the tubes warming up, but that still shouldn't be causing a problem like that. My 753DF has no such issues.

I have a ViewSonic P95f+ that does the same thing. I think it has to do with the refresh rates.
