Samsung 710V 17" TFT Flat Panel $279.99AR @ Outpost

DVI monitors cost quite a bit more than regular analog versions. Could some explain why it is in simple terms? Obviously, the hardware is different but why does it cost so much more?

As far as needing DVI, I receintly purchased a cheap 17" Hyundai L70S for my mother and it looks great using an analog imput. I wouldn't be willing to pay more to improve it since any improvement would only be minor.
