Ordered mine. There is also tax, but still a hot deal. I just hope we get the 7200.10 as with the Outpost deal.

it's just luck when it comes to getting a good and bad drive...all brands are good imo, it's the bad drives that cause our biases...

EDIT: hot still...

Definitely agreed. Is this one of those really quiet and cool Samsung Spinpoints?

It shows the model being H40072KSATA but I cannot find that anywhere. It also shows it being sata 1.5, but Samsung's site only shows two 400GB SATA drives, both SATA 3.0

Any ideas?

Wow nice! I seem to remember Samsung drives fairing very well against the competition. The 5yr warranty of a Seagate is a little better, but 3yr is still fine for me.

So is this SATA2 and 16mb cache?

A few months ago I seen the Samsung drives being faster and quieter than most competition.

I can't find any info on Samsung's site. It's not listed under their Spinpoint series' from what I can tell (I remember the Spinpoints being the fast and quiet ones). Even searching the model number brings up zero results. I'm guessing it's a rebadged version of one of their other ones, but it'd be nice to know some tech specs on this particular drive.

Pretty awesome deal! I'm gonna have to pass though because I still haven't used those Seagate 400GB SATA @$110 from Outpost. These will end up costing me a bit more after shipping and tax, but is still a great deal. If I hadn't gotten the Seagates I'd probably get these.

From Compusa's site it's an 150 interface. H40072KSATA part number doesn't exist on Samsung's website. Samsung has two models of 400GB SATA. One with 16MB cache the other 8MB. Both of them are the SATA-300 interface. Not sure what to make of these models that Compusa is selling.

edit:
Samsung T series drives

I googled the part number and it's one of those rebadged Samsung drives from Connect Computers. It probably is an ATA 150 drive with 8MB cache. I can't find the info on Connect Computers but I did get one of their rebadged Samsung 80GB ATA drives for 10.00 after 70 MIR from Compusa earlier this year.

You all owe me. I just bought another WD320 @ newegg for 99, so I figured a good deal on a 400 would come out...
