I just bought this monitor yesterday.

It looks exactly like the 226bw on the outside, is there any way to test it and confirm it is actually a new panel?

What are people here thinking about this monitor?

I have not seen any testing on it at the various sites, anyone have any good reviews?

Anyone else own this monitor?

Right but how do you test the higher gamut to make sure it even has it?

also what about the panel lottery?

Are they Samsung panels or not?

If it's the 226CW, you should have a wide gamut panel. No worries about that.

Samsung will probably make the panel, as they said they will probably have the manufacturing capacity for the 226CW since they don't expand demand to be as high.

How do you test for gamut? Well:

a) a colorimeter
b) check the purity of white compared to a 72% gamut screen?

I am just skeptical of samsung after the whole 226bw bs, I returned my c panel, and the fact that it is identical to the bw on the outside, well they put a sticker on the top right corner.

I do notice that the color on the cw is richer.

Also it has less backlight bleed, almost none.

I still need to do a pixel check.

only thing that bothers me is that it is made in june in china, and I swear my 226bw c panel was made in the same place.
