That's not a buzz kill. That's good info to make sure those who go for this deal get buzz they're expecting. Thanks. 😎

I hate to be a potential buzz kill with my first post on these forums, but be aware that there are two different panels that ship with the 226BW model. They are noted as 'A' & 'S'. 'A' apparently being pretty terrible, which might explain for the lost costs. Just an idea...

Good to note, but according to the customer reviews at buy.com they are shipping the s-panel. But it's still a gamble I suppose.

Well it looks like another panel has been added to the lottery. There's a new review up stating he got a "C" panel, lol.

As many forget, those are all the 22'' LCD's, you want to buy a Viewsonic, Acer, or HP? Then you just got yourself an "A" panel. There's also a new one out, the C panel, which is made by Chimei.

So basically, yeah, the only way to get the best 22'' panel out on the market is to gamble by trying to get a Samsung. THough you might end up buying a AUO or Chimei...but there's no real big deal because people argue
that you're paying a premium, but its the same deal when you go out and buy a Viewsonic and HP which charge even more for their 22''(typically, not all though, I'm generalizing, be flexible pple...).

I personally own a viewsonic vx2235...basically I have the "A" panel if you got it from Samsung, pple seem to be super duper picky when it comes to samsung, yet forgiving to other brands' quality, my Viewsonic has noticeable
backlight that's really annoying during movies and also I have a dead pixel as well a stuck pixel. But I live....but I see all these forum reviews for Samsung's and pple flip out and go nuts if they have the slightest backlight bleeds..when in reality if you went with other brands you'd probably get worse, but no one cares.

Best buy has this for i think its 320$? I might pick it up there so i can return it if i have any dead pixels and whatnot. Its a very nice monitor from what i seen.

This is the best 22" Monitor you can get in the price range 200-400 dollars.. I have the Type A, built in China.. I bought it recently from Best Buy when it was 329.99... I was freaked out by all the bad publicity.. and at first i was a little worried.. but after playing with the settings for a few days and trying the monitor out for a few weeks (BB has a 14 day no questions asked return policy).. I couldn't be happier!

I bought this monitor from BB about a month ago. Sweetest looking 22" LCD. I didn't like any of the other monitors when I was looking around.

To determine if you have an S panel, you have to look at the serial number/model label on the back of the monitor. It will have the model number and then after it either an "S", "A", or now apparently "C".

I ordered one a little over a week ago from Buy.com and got lucky enough to get an "S" panel (manufactured by Samsung). It is a verynice monitor, at least the S panel version is. Do note that it is a TN panel, like all current 22" models are, so if you are used to something like a PVA panel, you may not care for it (the viewing angles are not as good, and the color accuracy is not as good).

I just purchased 7 of these from Buy.com for my tech team. Every single one was an "A" panel. No complaints from me or the team, no dead pixels and even backlighting. I wouldn't even mind replacing my 20" Dell at home with one.

I've got this model (no idea what panel is in it), and I can honestly say it's the best display I've ever owned. Fast, SUPER bright, and it looks slick. I also like the telescoping base, because I can put my Logitech center channel speaker right under the screen. Highly recommended.

OK, I have the C panel.

I have an "S" panel. Its a great 22" LCD monitor.

The only negitive is that there is slight color banding. You can only notice it when viewing color gradiants. My Acer 22" widescreen displays absolutely no banding at all.

Its excellent for gaming, I notice no ghosting at all. Love it.

So are you saying you prefer your Acer?
