Samsung 193P Refresh Rates

I just bought a new Samsung 193P monitor and am using an Asus Gforce 4200-based video card.

Although the monitor specs list 1280x1024 at both 60 and 75 HZ vertical as VESA supported combos, it appears that you can only run 60 for digital as a supported refresh rate. Maybe the 75 Hz is for analog?

I have unchecked 'hide unsupported rates' in the display properties and forced it to 75 but am not sure that it is doing anything.

Can anybody with this monitor verify this?

i'm not an expert on LCD technology, but from what I read from other peoples posting, refresh rate for LCD are 60Hz. Plus, it's better to look at LCD monitor's reponse rate than refresh rate. For gaming it's recommend to have <=16ms response rate. I have a Benq F951 with 25ms reponse, I see bad ghosting effect when I play doom3. For movies, it's fine (but, not all movies especially with fast action). I might have to get a dual monitor setup. Either get a CRT or another 17inch LCD with 16ms.

193P is one of the best LCD out there, I wish I could afford one. :brokenheart:

I know about the response time vs. refresh rate. The 193P has a rated 20ms response time.

But my question is, why is 75 Hz not a supported refresh rate in my display settings when I use a DVI connection?

I have one question regarding 193P.

In many reviews, including @ anandtech, they're saying it has an weight issue.

The issues with the over-flexibility of the stand annoyed us occasionally as the panel rarely would sit in the desired position. Samsung has a winner with their 193P panel, but very small issues with the stand may discourage buyers.

Does your unit has the same problems? I want to buy one next week and I have to be sure.. If not I'll go for the 17" model, because it's lighter.

I think that 75Hz is only for the analog mode.
When I force my monitor to 75 Hz over the DVI the monitor starts to loose sync?
i.e. I see a single frame flicker every few minutes?
